Members katopp
Wot? Since I have issues counting (one, two, three ... lots), I thought instead of counting to 6 (or 8 or 12), maybe counting to 4 might be easier and so I've bought me an acoustic bass guitar. Pics to follow.... I thought the scale of my baritone was long, but a bass ... man, that's something completely different. 34 inches are a fecking lot to master. No way one can play 4 to 5 frets w/o moving the fretting hand. And those ropes are something else. Would not call them strings, more like ... ropes, like. But playing it (or better: dabbling around with it) is more fun than dabbling on a mandolin or uke. I've got big hands and the tine mando frets always were a PITA. The bass, OTOH ... Members garthman
Yeah Karsten - I doodled with an electric bass for a while. Too much space between the frets that's for sure.
Members DeepEnd
Happy New Bass Day. Bought an electric bass a few years ago. Granted, it takes some getting used to--even a short scale bass is 30" and mine is a standard scale like yours--but it can be fun. When I play in public, I play the Fender Mexi Jazz Bass at church but mine is fine for practicing.
