Members housered
Those guitars are funny looking. I won't believe that they sound good unless someone proves it to me with youtube videos!
Members housered
Thats what I thought. There ain't nothing that a ric can do. They are just funny looking guitars. I am especially skeptical of those who claim that one can play the blues on a ric. Hah! Prove it.

I am not a fan of the Beatles's earlier stuff. That did nothing for me. I think that my point has been proven! :poke:

Members metropolis74
Marty Willson-Piper of The Church and his Rickenbackers > all other videos posted in this thread. No disrespect to Harrison and company, but Marty really pulls out all the stops and proves traditional semi-hollow Ricks aren't just for jingle-jangle and can stand up to abuse. Great Ricky riff and mid-song solo. Check out the solo and outro. Now this is something you don't see everyday on a Rick. Whammy craziness.
Members housered
Allright, the ric can do a lot of things. No question about it. But, I don't think that it is a good tool for distortion. Not for me. I love them and I started the thread because I am thinking of buying one. I know, go out and play one. Problem is, I have never come across one. At least, not while I was on the look out for one.
Members songsforbears
I know this is just a music video, but I've seen it done live recently and it's always the same Ric guitars that Tom Petty and Mike Campbell use. For me, this is the epitome of Ric tone.

Members Scoogs
Yes - it's really hard to go out and find a Ric to jam on if you don't already own it.
