Members Elessar [Sly]
I am considering getting a custom Jaguar made, and would like a pick up recommendation. I want nice articulate cleans from the neck humbucker but it needs to be able to handle fuzz and a bit of high gain. For the bridge I need something that can handle high gain distortion well as well a little bit of overdrive (perhaps punchy cleans?). I am also considering coil tap options (if that would work alright on a Jaguar that is). It will have a standard jaguar bridge system, and would like generic humbuckers with humbucker covers not specifically made Jaguar pick ups. The body is made of Ash
Members kit_strong
So no interest in Rose Picassos then which are Jaguar sized hum bucker. Something from BG Pickups or Rose would be my first choice. ROse has the advantage of a faster turn around time but they both make great pickups at a very reasonable price. The Rose New Dawn sounds like it might be a perfect fit. Members Scoogs
You could go the Cobain route and throw a Dimarzio Super Distortion in the bridge.

Members jhamnett
Thinking a set of Gibson 57 Classics would do you well.
Members cratz2
I'd personally go for an Air Norton in the bridge and a 36th Anniversary in the neck but since you don't like Dimarzio, you are a bad person and will likely go to hell. For Duncan, I'd probably go Custom 5 and a Stag Mag in the neck. And I don't think the 57 Classics would be a bad choice... Or maybe the Plus version in the bridge. Members Elessar [Sly]
I have an SH5 in the bridge of my Gibson SG standard, and I certainly like that pup. But I am worried it might be too bright in ash? Also, I really like the Bare knuckle Cold sweat which is very similar, so I would probo go with that if I went in that direction... but again worried about it being 'too' bright. I'm having a 57 classic put in the neck of my Epiphone LP standard, and I'm looking forward to hearing how that sounds.
Members honeyiscool
I think SH5 sounds better in bolt-ons than set necks, and (you'd probably use the TB5 anyway but) remember the 24" scale will give it a slightly darker sound anyway. Members Fab4ever
My Jag has TV Jones Classic and Classic +. I *love* it! It's my main gigging guitar and covers everything from cleans to pretty gainy sounds wonderfully. It also has a Bigsby.
Members honeyiscool
This is a good point, have you tried this with a Jaguar? That particular one, only on a Strat. I've tried a SH4 in a Mustang and I remember thinking I'd much rather prefer an SH5.

Members Elessar [Sly]
Would something like the cold sweat (BKP) or SH5 been too harsh in an Ash body do you think?
Members Scoogs
Maybe it's just me, but I think the traditional trem system on the Jags look WAAY better than the Bigsby. And they're not all looks, either. The functionality is fantastic. Beats the trem on any Strat I've played.

Members Scoogs
Yep. I have one of the Fender Classic Player Jags that come HH. Fender Enforcer humbuckers. They're not terrible, but they're nothing special. Eventually I'll get them swapped. HH Jags are crazy cool

Members Alecto
I really like the idea of Filtertrons on a Jaguar body. I suspect that would be a great combination. I know Guitar Mill offers the Mario Guitar Serpentine, which offers that combo. Been getting solid reviews, from all I've heard.
Members Elessar [Sly]
I'll be putting on some mustang saddles. But I still haven't come any closer to deciding on a pickup!
