I just made an offer of $2500 for a guy selling his Voyager in the classified section and he turned it down immediatly, no counter offer, just a flat out NO.

This was a cash offer in person, no ebay or paypal fees, plus it's used.

Was my offer fair?

Craigslist in LA area.$1900-$2300 all the time.Electric Blue and other Back lit models and with upgraded OS with 700 plus preset's.$2500 is High here.

Thanks man, I thought it was reasonable.

It is an electric blue with the new os and extra banks.

Some people are weird that way, they dont want to take any loss on an item.

he wasn't being unreasonable, it was just God telling you to buy my Taurus pedals instead and put the rest of the money towards a Slim Phatty.

hey how's it going man? Don't think I havn't been thinking about those sweet-ass pedals of yours because have but I want a Voyager first.

Oh speaking of people not wanting to take a loss, there's a guy on ebay right now selling his Matrix 6 for 1900 bucks! I think there's still an active listing for a $4300 JX-8P, LOL, some people are nuts.

Regards

I have owned Voyagers since their first release. Your offer was very fair. Each time I upgraded to the latest model I received somewhere in the range of $1,900 - $2,600 for my old model. The seller you are dealing with has unrealistic expectations that probably will be lowered after he has learned enough. The market determines the price regardless of what the seller thinks.

Now is not the best time to buy an instrument. There are many buyers with ready cash and there are sellers who want an unreasonable price so they can pay their holiday expenses. Wait until January when most people have no money. You might see a Voyager sell for less than $1,900 on eBay.

Whatever happens, don't feel bad about the recent miss. There are always Voyagers for sale in excellent condition. Often they are only a few months old with little studio time on them. As soon as the owner realizes the synth has a distinctive sound that requires external gear to modify he dumps the Voyager.

Yeah but don't go too far into Feb when people start getting their tax refunds back!

Anyone who says OBO can expect offers.

If I may temporarily hijack...

I'm contemplating a Alesis QS8.1 that's listing at $800 locally. I haven't the foggiest what they're actually worth. I know I'd like the hammer action keys and the (relatively) light weight but it's not worth $800 to me. Anybody know what the going price is? Wouldn't want to insult anybody...

I was thinking about you today ya sumbich and your little mind waves which you are sending over to buy those pedals.....man, maybe in a month or 2 if you still have them we can talk, they would fit in perfectly into my setup.

Thanks syntex, that's reassuring.

I mean yeah I want one, but it doesn't have to be tomorrow by any means. There will be one in the future, just have to find the right deal.

i would email the guy back and show him that that unit can be bought new at basically that price.

i wouldn't give up so fast. I just got an akai mpk 61 for $275, the guy was asking $400 but sweetwater has them for $400. sometimes when people get a reality check they relax a little bit and understand.
