I don't have a favorite per say, but I can't stand that Wings song that's seems like its all chorus. I think it's called something like "simply having a wonderful Christmas." Atleast that's what the chorus says half a million times. If I hear it in a store I generally leave the store until its over.

Lmao! Ironically, that's one of the songs I look forward to hearing because it reminds me of when I was a little kid.

Right:

Let's get the ' traditional ' ones out of the way first.....

Tony Bennett can pretty much sing just about anything and invest it with groove...

nice backup from Ralph Sharon on Piano..

Ella putting a pretty ferocious swing into ' Jingle Bells'.......

the Vince Guaraldi Trio are pretty much standard this time of year for me....

Any of the songs off this soundtrack will do.

Xmas wouldn't be the same for me without Leon Redbone. Here's 'Christmas Island'.

Leon Redbone. Dr John. Frosty The Snowman. Enough said. Although I'm pretty sure they were ' imbibing' when they did this one....

Now for a couple of Curveballs

Robert Downey Jr:

Does a version of Joni Mitchell's ' River' . Friend of mine played this at Xmas for me a couple years ago and was blown away...Not a traditional Xmas song, but the sentiment fits the time of year. RDJ does a pretty good job, and the arrangement is good. Check out the slightly creepy ' Jingle Bells' quote towards the end.

and Finally, The Pogues with Kristy MacColl, ' Fairytale Of New York.

Again , not a traditional Xmas song, but I'm pretty sure that we've all had to deal with something similar to the situation in this song over our lives, and add that to the heightened emotions this time of year and well...... Plus, its Shane MacGowan .

Here's a live version....

Everyone have a happy, safe, and hopefully snowy Xmas.....we finally got snow here yesterday. Green Xmases suck.
