My last gig was with three bands - the first band blew everyone away (it wasn't us). The wife of the first bands singer was somebody I had worked with five years ago. "a better musician than a singer" "your voice isn't suit for rock" "a low voice" etc.. and the list goes on I haven't really seriously gigged or anything. Occasionally play for friends and a couple of open mics years ago, but nothing serious. I don't really think I'm good enough to gig. For artist comparisons.. I have no idea. It's sweet-toned and low-toned at different moments. You prabably have good range. If you have a desire to gig, you should go for it and keep practicing your craft. where'd you get this "not good enough to gig" nonsense from? lol. I agree. never been into folk, but hey Grace, you should do a song like this: I think you would kick some ass doing this style. You would be able to pull it off really well. Your voice is much more angelic than mine..so I don't think id be able to do a song like this..but anyways listen to it, what do you think? I genuinly came to this forum to connect with other singers and learn, and i got bashed so It want a really pleasant experience when I wanted a pleasant experience. Im starting to like being here and id like to engage more by maybe even posting an accapella or two or more originals im just really sensitive about my voice and i went into a rage. Im gifted with natural vocal talent and songwriting skills and I know that it just wouldnt hurt to be around positive people to enhance that. I actually haven't even LISTENED to your clips to be honest. I will tomorrow though. I'm behind in my listening to people's clips over the weekend. What I can say to you is this forum is AMAZING for giving confidence and good helpful feedback on vocals...also songwriting if you write your own stuff. I wouldn't have even written a song if it wasn't for this forum. (although clearly in your opinion the world would be a better place if I HADN'T ever written any songs, eh?) Members grace_slick Posted February 1, 2011 Members Share Posted February 1, 2011 Not sure if this is even required now since what's her name's been banned, but I listened to Rush...it's definitely NOT my type of music but I know it's got a big demand in clubs and stuff...it was ok. Nothing much happened with it though...vocals could've been more echo-y to add more ambience. Red Wrath...it's kinda hard to comment strictly vocally cause I don't know what the "tune" was meant to be...but meh. It was ok. You'd have to sing something else for me to really be able to comment.
