  1. Don't tell anyone, but Zzounds is the only one who will do a PM on the Kramer, and they're doing it for $246 and change. Funny thing is, AMS declined, saying it was below their cost
  2. http://www.amazon.com/Kramer-Classic-Electric-Guitar-Tremolo/dp/B00365FIXA/ref=sr_1_31?m=ATVPDKIKX0DER&s=musical-instruments&ie=UTF8&qid=1313242344&sr=1-31 Still four left, now down to $254.54.
  3. but for the future, can someone answer my question on the return policy for sdotd deals? No different from any other order.
  4. ^^^ I never cared for the body style, but a "standard" level Gibson with BB Pros and HSC??? Dammit, I would be there if my return had hit
  5. What? No one noticed THIS yet??? Gibson RD Standard (Ebony), normally $1499, currently on sale for $999, today's SDOTD for $699 : http://www.musiciansfriend.com/stupid/
  6. +1 for silverring233, who's apparently going for the HCEG record of most good deals in his sig :poke:
  7. I have seen no across-the-board hatred of either, at least no more than any other make/model out there. Many like 'em, many don't. It's all personal preference.
  8. The Sienna Burst is one of my favorite Strat finishes. Zemmy, that is SWEET HNSBSD!!! Oh, and kiss my ass!
  9. Um, very deja vu - hasn't someone else here in the recent past posted the exact same email as a response to THEIR CL ad ???
  10. Did. LOL! You sicko - at least it better have been within the last two years or so
  11. Does Neil Young sing "well?" Mick Jagger, Bruce Springsteen, Pete Townshend. I remember trying to get my friends in 1978 to get on board with the Boss. Took 'em to No Nukes movie and they all hated him thought he was a phony playing up the to the camera. Jackson Browne was the fave. I remember the first time I heard After The Goldrush and that voice was a bit strange. Actually same w/Springsteen. Grateful Dead seemed to have a nice long career with no notable "singers" Oh by the way, I am not a huge fan of Taylor's but she has gained a sizeable audience, plays guitar and writes songs. Not bad. John Lennon was 23 when Meet The Beatles came out in America. Only time will tell with Taylor. No one (but me who was the only person in my circle of friends who championed her) thought Madonna would still be here. Oh yeah another "non" singer. oh by the way not a huge fan, but Taylor seems to have built and audience. She plays guitar and writes her own songs and isn't even 21 yet! John Lennon was 23 when Meet The Beatles was released in America. There is NO comparison between Swift and any others you have mentioned above. Yes, she has written songs, and plays guitar (a Taylor, no less...) - good for her. So does Michelle Branch, who came out firing hot with her song "Everywhere" when she was 18 (a MUCH better song than ANYTHING TS has done)...anyone heard from MB lately ??? Bottom line is, with Madonna, Jagger, Springsteen, Townshend, et, al that you mentioned above, they had SOMETHING DIFFERENT that people realized very quickly. They were revolutionary. They changed music and made their mark...TS is a product of a HUGE marketing push by desperate record company folks who are DYING to get their next pop tart out there. And the fact that she's being pushed as a country artist is such a big joke that even Shania Twain has to be laughing...
  12. clapton is a boring old f*** and I like greenday. makes sense to me. pretty apples and oranges, though. I actually like 'em both, but Clapton hasn't made a good album since "From the Cradle" (not counting "Riding with the King", either, since it was more BB than EC), and although very cool what with him touring with Winwood right now, ain't Grammy-worthy this year. Green Day, like 'em or not, deserves it more right now.
  13. I don't understand the infatuation people seem to have with Taylor Swift. The girl really doesn't sing very well. If she was unknown and auditioned for American Idol, she would never get that gold ticket to Hollywood, much less have a chance to sing on TV. No real voice... (((LOUD applause))) She has no stage presence whatsoever, either - it seems every move she makes - step this way, turn head this way, lift arm...NOW - is all very choreographed...should be known as Taylor Stiff, and not for punny reasons, either... FWIW, she has more potential as an actress, IMO...
  14. even worse than vince is sebastian from skid row. I dont' know wtf it is with those 80s singers that just totally lose their voice and their range. I'm not a singer but as I've gotten older, my range has actually improved a little and I can hit notes and harmonies now that I couldn't in the past. That's due to the "cat in a blender" vocal style that so many bands from that era were hamstrung with. Nothing ruins a great guitar riff more than when those vocals come in (Ratt's "Lay it Down" is a great example).
  15. *** UPDATED WITH OUTRIGHT SALE PRICES *** (and deleted previous post ) I have a 2008 Fender American Special Mahogany Stratocaster in near mint condition: More pics here: http://s305.photobucket.com/albums/nn212/cbhtele/2008%20MIA%20Strat/? *Mahogany body *9.5" fretboard radius w/22 medium-jumbo frets *Two Tex-Mex single coils; one Diamondback humbucker *S-1 switching system *LSR roller nut *Factory Sperzel locking tuners Guitar is in near-mint condition, with no dings, dents, chips, or scratches on the body or neck. Asking $230.00 shipped obo (lower 48 only); again will be willing to include in trades: I would also be willing to trade either or both toward the following (but not looking to add much cash...): * PRS "beaters", unless you'd like to do a straight-up trade on a Custom 24 - must have standard or wide-fat neck profiles. Dings/dents/chips/scratches are fine as long as it plays well and the frets aren't destroyed; * PRS SE Soapbars ONLY (preferably semi-hollows or Singlecuts; * Brian May Red Special; * Smaller TUBE combo amps (NO modellers; hint: Blackstar HT-5 makes me tingle); * Digitech RP255/355/500; * Cash I am ONLY looking for the above items, or something REALLY close. No thin-necked/flat radius guitars, no modelling amps, etc.
  16. ^^^ THAT'S PURTY!!! I saw it in the FS thread, and thought the original price was very fair - didn't they go for over 1K new? And they are not easy to come by these days.
  17. CrystalLake has been added to my sig for his purchase of the Squier Deluxe Strat. Nice communication, and seemingly a good guy. It's love :thu:
