  1. if you don't consider this thread he started to be both insulting to the entire membership and obviously a troll thread, then we'll just have to agree to disagree on the character of JJPistols: http://acapella.harmony-central.com/showthread.php?2860057-Nobody-at-HCEG-is-a-bluesman Ha. Looks like he's got you there, Grinder. This Pistols character is a bad seed. A sad, bad seed, indeed.
  2. I've heard the call! I feel the needs of the people coincide with mine own. yep. i spend most of my time on another guitar forum. its a fantastic community and pretty close-knit. lots of really valuable sharing of information. when someone joins up who's just there to sell something or make trouble, they get run off pretty quickly. here, someone can make a thread or a post that blatantly insults all the other members, and the mods do nothing. its one thing to disagree, but to make blanket insults and just keep doing it to rile people up, well, the sense of community and decorum deteriorates pretty rapidly. I'm not one to seek high power, but obviously great responsibility is being thrust in my general direction. I seek only to serve the greater good, or the gooder great, better best, you better, you better, you bet. Ooooowooooowoooo. I will just go ahead and assume I've been granted these powers, and act as though I have them. I'm sure it's just a matter of time before it all goes through and my decisions will be executed retroactively. Thin Lizzy {censored}in Rules!
  3. i'm not putting him on my ignore list to hurt his feelings. i'm putting him on my ignore list because my time here will be more pleasant and useful if i don't have to read his posts. he's more than welcome to put me on his ignore list. You're quite magnanimous, thank you. If its all the same to you, I'll continue to passively not really give a {censored} what you do.
  4. you're quite the apologist. well, if i could change one thing about this place, it would be that people like jj and django were not here, spewing their venom and insults. but then again, its pretty easy to put them on the ignore list. django is already there. jj will join him. I bet a healthy percentage of your posts are just you insulting forumites that you've decided don't belong here. How many posts do you have in the Leo's Mistake thread? How many are about guitars even remotely?
  5. I like this place. I've found some really cool people here. Same wish OSG and ILF. There are plenty of really cool people here. It's always been that way, even though a percentage of turnover is involved. There are lots of idiots, assholes and people who want to make everything their way, too. Kind of like everywhere in the world, I reckon. I try to talk mostly to the cool people. I try to remember that even some of the blustery and snarky folk are decent sorts, and even the coolest people are bound to disagree with me on something, sometime. It's cool that we have freedom here to be a bit stupid at times, although there is definitely a mean streak that gets exposed here. A willingness to make a cyber lynch mob that is a bit scary, really, but probably also not unlike real life. I don't know, I'm not a highly educated sociologist or anything, just a guy who makes noise sometimes. If you enjoy it, and it doesn't make your life harder, then why not enjoy it?
  6. If other places are so much better, why are you here bitching about here?
  7. Hippie? I don't even have a medical weed card--and I think I'm the only one in Colorado who can't buy the chronic legally. Outlaw hippie!
  8. People don't give a {censored} about playing. Shopping and name calling is where it's at, hippie!
  9. I've learned that any clip posted by WilmertheWhite is going to be badass and read to blow my musical mind.
  10. by the way, why do all you tattoo haters feel the need to come into a thread like this and spread your narrow minded bull{censored} anyway? here's the original post: okay, i don;t have any tattoos and don;t plan on getting any. Several of my son's friends have one or more. none are prison tats, yet none come anywhere near what i think would be considered "art" - you know a pretty sleeve or an "integrated" set of tats. Okay - how much does this cost in your area, and how much have you personally spent in your life and at one time ? Obviously, if you have only one tat ... one payment. however, i don't think many of you have gotten multiple tats at one sitting, and i bet some take several sittings. educate a tat dunce. thanks. ain't askin' for your opinions on the arts, is it? is it some sort of insecurity or need to let people know that you care too much about things that don't really affect you? just wondering, and now someone has actually asked for you to reply
  11. This discussion is similar to "who has the biggest cock?" it's me
  12. y'know...Hitler said and did some pretty nasty things, but he looked like a funny little fella, just from outward appearances, not at all dangerous just sayin'
  13. By all means, lets not judge people by how they look.... but I guess laying into them because of how they talk or write is ok. and don't even think about judging people by their actions!
  14. people who say "tats" are struggling to fit in they think it males them sound cool
  15. Everybody judges people by their appearance. Everybody. You can be the nicest guy in the world, and look like a dork, and everyone will assume you're a dork until you prove otherwise. Why people would want to go out of their way to get people to assume they're a dork is beyond me. Yet studies have mostly shown that people into outrageous clothing, tattoos or body piercings generally have self esteem issues and would rather you judge them by their perceived disagreeable appearance, then by meeting them and simply not liking them. "You don't like me because you feel threatened by my tattoos!" Yeah, right. Of course there are some people who just like them, but I'm sure that's a pretty low percentage. If you ask 100 kids in high school about some guy with a sleeve, they'd probably go "Bad ass, tough guy!" Then ask 100 working adults and they'll go "the guy who works at the car wash until he's 65." The fact everybody seems to hide their tattoos when going for a job interview or to meet the new girlfriends parents tells you even they know it was a bad idea and they know they're going to be judged harshly by it. I'm reading this out loud and masturbating
