  1. If wood was as prone to warping and twisting as many people seem to believe, historic buildings and antique furniture would look like they were designed by architects and carpenters from Whoville.
  2. you are totally wrong it's stupid to haggle through email on something you're going to buy in person -- I won't even talk about price til you've played the guitar and I've seen your money, and even then I'm pretty firm unless I'm in a bind shopping is hard
  3. 90% of Social Distortion, esp the entire Prison Bound album -- it's just one long pick scrape and a Stones cover
  4. this has got to be the most generic guitar out there. http://acapella.harmony-central.com/showthread.php?t=2181000
  5. not necessarily bad, but just boring, normal old everyday generic guitar {censored} I'll get it started: black/white strats Stevie Ray Vaughanabees what else?
  6. Classic Rock and Blues are the music of the living dead.
  7. very true, sorry to get short, just don't really like BS. then get the {censored} out of this place! BS is #1 around here!

  10. were you in or around Kansas City in junior high? one of the old local stores there had a house brand I believe called JDS the store was Cuzin Jed's Guitar Shed
  11. the most versatile amp I've ever owned is Crate VC508 - my apartment amp it's a 5w tube amp with a SS chip in the preamp - the tube purists seem to hate this, but I can run it with the volume near zero and turn up the gain and get crunch and gain at near zero level - great at 1 am, quieter than a radio granted, it ain't a sweet sound, but if you wanna amp rock late night in your apartment... I had a speaker out installed so I can run it into my 2x12 for practice, or even a gig if I needed to they can be had used for $100-150 the VC58 is the current model version - don't believe there are any major differences outside of cosmetics, but I could be wrong
  12. Originally posted by mjc600 Honestly... I want it. I fully intend to upgrade the kittycaster with hardware and electronics. That's not the point of the thread though. Has anyone tried one? How was it? More importantly, have you removed the pickguard? How much of a cavity is left exposed? Is there anything clever I could do to the pickguard to make it look .... not gay? Maybe cut it into a less distinct shape and remove the cat face? Replace it? Remove it entirely? Any help??? Thanks! you are gay for asking - now free yourself, sister!

Just don't expect to be able to ask too many questions. why would he have to? sounds like he knows everything already honestly, how pathetic are you that you have to constantly try to one-up a salesman at GC? it's just some guy doing a crappy job. and people like this make it crappier
  15. Originally posted by chu2 I hate that thing. ESPECIALLY considering they own GC. It's the wal-mart of music stores. Horrible. Good selection, crappy service by college kids who don't know anything about guitar. I walked in there once and a guy walks up to me and asks me if I need help and I tell him I'm just looking. I start checking out some teles, strats, etc. The dude walks up to me and asks me if there's anything I'm looking for. I tell him I'm just looking for something to blow my christmas money one and, since I'm not old enough to be considered as an experienced guitarist, the dude tells me that the first thing I have to decide on is if I like the two-pickup gibson system or the three pickup fender system, while I'm standing right here staring at a DISTINCLY TWO-PICKUP FENDER TELECASTER. I almost told him that I perfer two-pikcup telecasters and three-pickup Black Beauty 'Pauls, but I just walked out of the store. Plus the smoke on the water playing over the din in that place was annoying the heck out of me. So GC sucks, at least around here. And I don't like MF becase they support GC. I'll be shopping at my tiny local store from now on, which I like much better. Those guys actually somewhat know what they're talking about. oh wow man, like you are soooo cool
  16. they were a late 80s early 90s budget brand, MIK I believe they used to do a neat little John Lennon Ric copy, but most of the ones I've seen have been 80s style shredders can't tell you much else
