This is my 2005, Silver Burst Squier Standard Strat that weighs 8.6 lbs. The guitar came stock with the pearloid pickguard, back plate, and neck inlays. A open box buy for $127.00 and total build cost of $255.00 which includes the price of the guitar. I bought a Fender noiseless PU kit that came with 1 meg pots and capacitors and resisters (Jeff Beck set). The wiring was done according to the Fender American Deluxe Stratocaster 0101000/1002 diagram and a Fender 5-way American switch was used. It’s a Agathis body with bolt on maple neck.

Scoping out the Goodwill auctions the other day I raised a bid for this 2008 Squier Affinity Fat Strat. Won it for $37 and with shipping $50. After a clean up, new strings, set the string radius and an intonation check it's a great playing littler guitar. Straight neck, no buzzes, no dead spots bending on the neck. Very nice. I'm going to shave the fretboad edges to give it a worn in feel and polish the frets to make it greazy. Will make a nice gift for my grand kids when they are old enough.

A year or so ago I wanted to get a brass trem block for my Standards with the 2 point trem. GFS's site doesn't say the IMport block will or won't fit; so I emailed them. The answer I go was that the Import Trem Block would not fit. That's true, kind of. When I got the 39 mm trem block for my Affinity, that trem block went to together like it was a stock part. Not the slightest issue putting it together. At that time, I did some measuring with the Affinity trem block and the results I found were that it was extremely close to fitting the Standard Strat with the 2 point trem. (I did not take the Standard apart. I measured and eyeballed). I have one other Squier I knew it would fit if it didn't fit my standard; so I took a chance and ordered a brass block for my standard. I just finished putting up a photo album on my Facebook page where I explain what you need to do to bolt the GFS brass block up to a Squier Standard Series Strat with a 2 point trem. Hello Troops, I bought one of the GFS Brass blocks to put on my Affinity Strat and I've made a photo album and put up on my Facebook account and opened it to the public. If you search for me there it has the same face as my avatar here. Look for Mike Senior or TheMikeSenior to bring it up. You should NOT have to friend me to check it out and I didn't draw any conclusions. You can add some mids to your pedal. Take the back off and find the pot . You'll see a little gear connected to a little rod with teeth on it. Remove the screws that hold The little rod against the gear. Separate the two and turn The gear a couple of teeth toward the mid range you want. Then put it back together and try it out. If you find the sweep the way you like it you are good to go. If you want more one way or the other just remove the back and adjusted a little more. Only do a couple of teeth Add a time.
