serial number seems to indicate its a 92, no? (1st and 5th numbers)

Nope, it's 94002915.

Those beginning with "94":

In 1994, Gibson's Centennial year, many instruments have a serial number that begins with "94" for the year, with the remaining 6 digits indicating the ranking number.

Most lower income Thais survive on the black money lenders or the pawnshops. No safety nets here.

This one is actually called the Used Stuff shop.

There are odd things, like sniperscopes, mixing desks, hammond organ, a couple of Epi LPs and something they say is a 91 Standard, from memory.

Caveat emptor.

Indeed. If you're unsure about it's genuinity bring some pics.

That's beautiful! Congrats.

Looks an awful lot like Plain Jane, my ol' number one (a '99 plain-top standard). All those plain tops seem to luck out with really cool grain on the back, hey? Mine has just incredible figuring on the neck especially.

Great score :thu:

Yup, they used good wood on that one. Saw a flame topped LP a couple of days ago in a music store and it had one of the most mismatched tops I've ever seen. That's when I decided that I had to get an old one. :) The fretboards also look really nice on the older models.

That will be a good test of authenticity.

" Excuse me, I am interested in this LP. Can I have a look? Yes, I promise not to break it."

"OK ...what? I'm writing down the serial number to check it."

"Its a cameraphone - I would like a couple of photos as well."

"Why are you escorting me from the shop? I am just being careful!"
