Members Anonymous Guy
I know the first call many make when choosing a humbucker for Strat/trem-equipped guitar is to look for trem spaced humbuckers. But in the used/new marketplace for guitars, your selection is minimized greatly if you go into the market with very specific variables in mind - looking for variety in the trembucker selection is like looking for guitars if you're a lefty (no offense to you southpaws out there!) But getting to the point, I was able to score some deals on some used standard-sized humbuckers to try out on a HSS Strat project. Many say the spacing of the humbucker requires slanting of the polepieces to the strings for balance, however I mounted the humbucker directly onto the HSS pickguard without any modification or slanting. With the magnetic field of the humbucker (which by principle, should expand a good range beyond the poles), I'm not really noticing a lack of tone or presence in any strings for using a regular humbucker in a trem-equipped guitar. So why the big fuss?
Members Carbohydrates
Hell if I know. I've had F-spaced DiMarzios in a Les Paul and Gibson humbuckers in a strat and tele and it all sounded fine to me.
Members Norcal_GIT_r
Traditional strat pickups are 52mm. 50mm humbuckers work just fine on strats.F Space is mostly for Floyds.

Ah, didn't know that. Back when I was looking for HB suggestions for my strat, everyone threw a fit about spacing
