Members gnizak
Just happened to see these on MF.... http://guitars.musiciansfriend.com/product/Gibson-Zoot-SG-Electric-Guitar?sku=484926 Some of the colors are really neat, and there's no paint involved, just several layers of dyed birch wood compressed and bonded together to form one solid block. Not sure about the sound quality of birch guitars (never played one) or the idea of lots of pieces of wood pressed together like that. Really cool looking designs though. Your thoughts? Members venivici
I honestly like the rainbow one, kinda reminds me of Clapton's Fool SG. I guess. I just imagine a kid holding the lollipop guitar while riding down a slide, and licking the guitar. To each his own i guess.
Members Kid Klash
If I remember correctly, they also sell $3000 plywood guitars and call them 335s. The ES-335 isn't a solidbody guitar. Squier used to sell a plywood "solidbody" Strat for $99 (not $1,200), made of thick plywood, like this SG. Squier wised up five or six years ago, and now, even their $99-$119 Bullet Strat has a body made of basswood lumber. The sooner Hartley Peavey buys Gibson, the better IMHO. Members gnizak
Yeah yeah, sorry if you already read about it. I searched zoot suit SG before I posted and didn't find any direct discussions about it.

Members Roy Brooks
The finish I dig. But I would rather be a different body shape. It would rule on an L-5 or Super 400.
