Members Citizen Cain
Suhr likes basswood. Nothing wrong with it IMO. Just be careful tightening screws. Say, how do you like the Hagstrom? I'd love to try one of those but every Hag I've tried has a really thin neck. EDIT: I'm asking about the Hag semi-hollow. Members Eddie
My Pacifica 1421 was made of basswood with a maple cap. Those were around $1600 or $1800.I think that Sadowsky also uses maple when he uses basswood. Definitely nothing wrong with basswood.

Members stratotak
I read some where on the internet that american basswood and asian basswood were not equal. Something about how basswood is a wood that will absorb moisture like a sponge..And basswood grown in Asia where they supposedly have higher humidity. The wood has a higher moisture content than wood used on higher end American basswood guitars..And it had something about how they dry the wood to fast and it doesnt give the wood time to shrink..or something like that..It leaves pockets in the wood fiber ...
