Members Noak
This is my second prototype strat. Body and neck are of the japanese brand Hosokawa, very nice quality and finish on their stuff. Body weighs aproximately 2 kg. Got graph tech trem nut and string trees, which really makes it stay in tune well. Here's what the body looked like when I got it. Bought it used from a friend who had somehow managed to break one of the screws for the vibrato. The finish is candy apple red. Luckily I had a Wilkinson WV2 vibrato lying around that uses pivot screws so I was able to get things right... Getting the broken screw out proved to be a bit of a challenge, but after some work I got it out. With new holes drilled and the bolts for the pivot screws mounted it's time to get the pickguard/electronics in place. Pickups are Dimarzio virtual 54' bridge and virtual 54' neck at the moment, lacking a middle pickup. I wire them as single coils using 250KOhm volume pot, finding this providing improved sonic results from the recomended series wiring/500KOhm pot. On my last prototype i didn't get the vibrato bolts perfectly aligned, which resulted in tuning stability and return-to-zero issues. This time I paid more notice to get it perfect, and that's just the result I got... All finished, I got her out in daylight to get some nice pictures, here's one of them... A nice view of the vibrato and controls. Candy apple red with mint green pickguard and creme controls and pickup covers is a very beautiful combination IMO. The guitar sounds and feels great. I will swap the pickups for Lundgren 50's Formvar when I can afford it... The Wilkinson WV2 works extremely well, especially for being such a cheap korean license made unit. What do you think? Members Noak
Thanks! Only thing that I don't like is that Fender made the "Classic player" series strat that has the same basic construction, mixing vintage and modern. My first prototype was made before Fenders model was out, so it's not a rip-off.

Members Noak
Nice to hear that, I'm thinking of starting some business. For people who want a custom shop guitar without spending as much as you would on a Fender Custom shop.
