Members Minnie The Moocher
I wish that Marshall had a 1/4 watt setting. In a way, there is. I mean, the headphone output is usable as a low-power speaker output. Of course, you'll need a spare cab but it works just fine - I made a video about it:
Members bigconig
meh....5 watts is too loud for apartment/home use but not loud enough for full band/gig use. Plus, the blackstar HT5 full ministack with both cabs can be had at GC for 499.00. imo, that's a much better deal if you're going to go the 5 watt route. Agreed. Add a master volume to the Marshall and it would be useful at home. As it stands now. . .not so much.
Members jamdogg
^^I bet you will single-handedly sell a bunch of those. Great playing/vids.
Members Squier Fat Telecaster
I guess you can make up a new cable to use the stock speaker in the headphone out as well. Mainly, do I want to give up the Palomino V32? Hard decision. Then there's the price diff between the Marshall and Vox. $249 versus $
Members Baddass
I ordered 2 from sweetwater back at the end of July.:facepalm:Still waiting.:confused:Can't beat the price seeing how fender want's a grand for their champ.:poke:
Members Mahuska
I don't see how you would get the tube break-up w/o using the Power section thru the headphone out:confused:

For me if I really want something, I'd save up a $150.00. And I have the AC4TV. It will interesting to see the many threads the C5 will generate in the coming month's. The love/hate thing. Members Mr Songwriter
I tried one the other day and thought it was pretty nice, it's a 5W combo but there are quite a few differences between it and the Champ 600, i.e. 10" speaker, BMT EQ and a different set of tubes. Members doc oc
So this thing is built on a PCB whereas the 1974x is PTP right?
Members Wyatt
why didin't they make it something like 5-10-15-20 watt switchable? Because three of those would be compromised. use the amp form the room, be it 5 watt, 15 watt 20 watt or 100 watt. Jack of all trades are masters of none. They offer the Haze at 15 watts and the 2061 at 20 watts.
Members Wyatt
So this thing is built on a PCB whereas the 1974x is PTP right? I would say that's a safe bet. The 1974X and 2061 RI's are part of their (relatively) high price hand-wired series. Production Marshall have been PCB since (ironically) 1974. Members MikeSpitzer
Class 5 is a nice little amp, but for people needing good tube tone at low volume ... they will probably be dissapointed. But if you can play this 5 watts at full volume, it is good.Michael A Spitzerwww.valveampusa.comhttp://www.youtube.com/user/ValveAmpUSAhttp://twitter.com/ValveAmpUSAhttp://www.facebook.com/pages/Valve-Amp-USA/197834847852
