Members Kevman
I feel kind of comfy recording into my old Zoom PS-04 but it uses smart media and has no usb out so for collaborating with others online I am at a stopping point.Software:Riffworks T4 Site:http://www.riffworld.com/ A simple search for multitrack studio in download.co m and Ii find that this could be pretty easy and cool. Anyone here use this site/software?
Members headless
I'm a complete dummy about this stuff, so pardon the dumb questions. Do this Riffworks allow real-time Online collaboration? Or just sharing of files to produce a final recording? I know that there is an Online collaboration site called eJamming: http://www.ejamming.com/?utm_source=eJammingAUDiiONews&utm_campaign=db8be09a2f-New_eJA1_12_2010&utm_medium=email But I've never used it. For one thing, I have a slow computer. But even if I didn't I just don't understand how they could have possible gotten past the problem latency inherit in the Internet. I would think that trying to do real-time jamming would prove too frustrating with the timing error. But I haven't tried it, so what the heck do I know. EDIT: but as far as simply recording/editing multiple tracks on your computer, my favorite freeby is "Audacity": http://audacity.sourceforge.net/
Members Bro Blue
I use RiffWorks Line 6 Edition and Standard. It is easy to use and I really like it. Like everything else there is a learning curve, but you get it quickly and will be recording in no time. Much easier to use than Audacity. I also downloaded a .wav to MP3 converter to convert the files after mixing. You can download these for free, you just have to search them out. The online thing I couldn't tell you about as i don't use it.
Frets99
You can record standalone with the software? And in addition you can collaborate in realtime?
Members ugameus
I don't see anything on their site that say real time collaboration.
Members Bro Blue
You can not collaborate/play in real time. With RW Standard you can use different interfaces. I use both a PO XT Live and DigiTech RP1000 with it. You can also use Tone Port, Pandora, Zoom, etc. Only Line 6 Products with Line 6 Edition. The T4 version is very basic. You can record riffs or sections of a song and store them, but editing, mixing, and saving options are limited. This is one of the first things I recorded with it. The level is low, so you'll have to turn it up, but it gives you an idea what you can do in a short preiod of time with it. http://soundclick.com/share?songid=7122178
