Members Orange Jackson
I'm buying a neck, and at this point, I don't lean one way or another as to what the tuner hole size is. Anything I should be thinking about here?
Members mike.sartori
It depends on what kind of tuners you want to use. I really prefer the vintage Kluson style, so I get the smaller diameter holes on all mine (4 so far.)
Members caveman
Yep, you need to know what tuners you intend to use.
Members Orange Jackson
I'm guessing it will be GFS Gotoh style locking tuners, guess that takes care of that.
Members Cortfan
You can always drill 'em larger if they are too small, or put bushings in, if they are too big.
Members paulskirocks
I feel like I'm getting cheated out of valuable maple when they drill the holes...
Members DaleH
You can always drill 'em larger if they are too small, or put bushings in, if they are too big. If you drill them be very carefull the bit does not grab. A saver way is to get a peghole reamer thesize you want and do them by hand.
Members Ute
If you order the neck finished, expect to do at least a little work with peghole reamers no matter what size you order.
