Neck Finish

Im currently having my guitar refinished. Is there a special sealer or finish you can put on the neck to make it smoother?

I imagine you will get a lot or responses telling you to go with tru-oil. That stuff gets a lot of love from guitar players despite being a gun stock finish.

Smoother, as in glossy, isn't always better. I like a satin finish neck, so either use a satin finish, or a gloss finish and knock the gloss down with a mild abrasive.

That's what I suspected. i think you should go for a thin oil finish, or a satin poly finish. Those are my favorites. The little microscopic bumps and valleys of both those finishes keep your hands from sticking to the neck.

Any gloss necks I play get scuffed up with some 800 grit if I decide it's a keeper.
