Members csm
I've never heard of Joe Gore:( Another ex GP magazine honcho ... and a working guitarist who's played with (among others) Tom Waits and PJ Harvey.

Members walrus1
You or I probably wouldn't sound like Charlie thru Charlie's 'rig'. It was in Charlie's hands, connected to his soul. +1 I had to dig around to find this I did a looong time ago, an Epi archtop directly into a PC with a Vamp modeler on clean. It was as close as I could get. What was even harder was getting his feel and phrasing, I kind of gave up at the end and just winged it. till-tom-special.mp3

Members profgalen
I bought a late 50s Sivertone Autoharp at the Goodwill Store. it had a few of those thick felt picks in the case. I never thought about using them for guitar, but I'm going to try them.
Members bigspan
Where can one get felt picks nowadays? Dunlop makes some http://www.jimdunlop.com/index.php?page=products/pip&id=171&pmh=products/herco
Members JasO
Anybody know what those felt picks were used for originally? When I started buying picks circa 1965, my local music store displayed them alongside the rest of the guitar picks. I bought a few and tried 'em on 6- and 12-strings, but could never get any tone out of them at all, plus they were thick and awkward to use. Members arclite
Thanks for posting! I was beginning to think I was the only one around here that was into swing guitar! We're out there (so to speak). It's been months since I played any music style on guitar that was popular after 1962 and not coincidentally about the same time I drifted away from here.
