Members MyEmergency
Go with a Gibson Sg Faded, you can pick them up for like $500 used or if you want a different brand the ESP LTD Viper 300 model series and above are all amazing guitars for the money, I had a viper 400 series and it felt and played awesome. Members Hurtzher
Has anyone ever tried the Edwards SGs that you can get for around $850US? I think the model # I was looking at was the SG-90LT2. All the pics I have seen show that the bodies seem to be 1-piecers. That's not really a make or break option though. Also, for some reason I prefer the smaller pickguard. Comes with Duncans. They seem to be a good deal, no?
Members jerry_picker
Another good alternative if you can find one: DeArmond S-73. That, and the USA-made Guild S-100, on which the DeArmond was modeled. Guilds show up for $850-1000, if you are alert. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Guild_s-
Members McCain
Rondo has these sort of sg Valkyrie's that I think is a nicer shape than the sg. Don't own one.http://www.rondomusic.com/valkyriealbino.htmlhttp://www.rondomusic.com/valk24hcfloyd.html
Members bdubbs
SG prices IMO are fine. I would man up and pick up a Gibby and enjoy.
Members Metalrulez
If I was looking at Epiphone I would go for the Wilshire Pro or 66 before the SG-400.
