Members wanderoo222
The only difference I can see are the finish choices, 1.6" nut width Vs 1.68" for the g400 and the g400 cost $50 more. Am I missing something here?
Members curseoftruth
They sound different and from what I understand, they have different pickups. The Vintage or faded style sounds better to my ears. I have played both numerous times.
Members wanderoo222
Really? The vintage g400 has the faded look I prefer. I was most concerned about the neck width. I know it's not that much of a difference but.... What did you think curseoftruth?
Members Beyer160
I haven't noticed a ton of difference in the couple I've played. They both have a ridiculous degree of neck dive, though.
Members cbh5150
I like the vintage better, due to the satin finish - it really feels smooth.

I know it's not that much of a difference but.... What did you think curseoftruth? Its been well over a year since I've picked one up and I've probably played 100 guitars since then, I don't really remember the neck width being any different than a typical G-400 which is fairly beefy and nice. But I do remember liking the vintage so much I thought about buying one. I have a faded Gibson Flying V and Les Paul (and soon to have a 60s Tribute SG that is on order), so I am partial to the faded series necks in the way that they feel. I rarely play my painted neck guitars anymore. I like them that much. Really only my Sheraton II is the only painted neck guitar that I play on a regular basis.
