Members nuke_diver
Title says it. Not electric guitar but electric guitar related and since I mostly post here I'll ask here. With the DE7 in the chain the signal is often noisy on both clean and dirt channels and pretty constant. If I go straight into the amp it's ok. If I bypass the DE7 it's ok. If I just go through the DE7 it's noisy so it's clearly that pedal. I thought at first it was a cable since I just repaired one but the cables both are fine alone. Are there any pedal experts out there who can suggest what to look for/fix. I found a schematic of the pedal so if there is an idea of what to look for I might be able to fix it. I only paid $30 for the pedal a couple of years ago and while I can live with the noise now I suspect something is going bad and if so I'll either see if I can fix it the pedal or junk it. Members mistersully
no idea... mine isn't noisy at all.... maybe ask in the effects forum if you don't get any answers here... a lot of those guys seem to love this pedal
Members nuke_diver
Mine wasn't noisy up until about a week or so ago (difficult to be sure because it did coincide with the cable failing) I like the pedal and I liked what I paid for it I'll try in the effects forum
Members grungehack
I have one that made a low whining noise whether used with batteries or ac power supply. Never tried to fix it, just went out and got a boss dd-3.
Members Special J
Does it do it with both power supply and batteries? I've found certain pedals I own won't work with one-spots or DC bricks, certain ones, don't even like power supplies at all.
Members nuke_diver
Power for all pedals (5 of them) is a Godlkye Power All. It had been fine until just recently. I checked the connections and they were solid and did not affect the noise. I'll try swapping to just the DE7 when I get home just to rule that out as well
Members onelife
Can you describe the noise? Is it a hissing or buzzing sound?
Members nuke_diver
Constant hiss (white noise). Pretty constant db level (does change a bit with volume level but some of that will be the natural preamp hiss I get a really high gain/volume levels with this amp (and the previous one for that matter). I never suspected the pedals until I stepped on the chorus pedal and that reduced the level though I'm still not sure why since the chorus is before the delay. When I heard that I started farting around with different pedal combinations until I isolated it to the delay
Members onelife
Do you get the same amount of noise if you just use the dry output alone?
Members richey888
My DE-7 hums (plug your ears and go mmmmmmmm) with a power supply. Sounds killer w/ 9v. Fickle little boxes aren't they?
Members nuke_diver
Do you get the same amount of noise if you just use the dry output alone? Yup I'll try a battery Richey. Still doesn't explain why it change from good to bad
Members nuke_diver
Tried a battery but battery does not seem to be able to provide any power. I bought this used and I don't remember if I ever tried it on battery power before It's kind of beginning to bug me....it might have to go
