Members ten56gibby
With the cap going from volume input lug to tone output w no wire from vol input to tone input. Just never seen a setup like this w so few connections.
Members ashasha
Look here, I can't tell from the picture you have what's going on exactly (plus I'm tired). http://www.dominocs.com/AshBassGuitar/Gibson50s.html
Members ten56gibby
Just modern wiring as opposed to '50s eh? Well. Feel a little silly for being so surprised. Lol! Apparently all I've seen before is the long way of doing modern wiring.
Members ashasha
Don't worry because I thought that it was a straight up 50's style, then I changed my mind to modern, and then I got a headache and gave up.
Members jamdogg
and why anyone ever puts those crap ceramic disk caps in guitars I'll never know. what... the extra $.50 for a halfway decent cap is going to drive up the price of a guitar that much?but to each his own... Members ten56gibby
Never really touched the wiring on this guitar before. It's my '90 Gibson LP Standard. One of the "Limited Colours" editions. The pic makes it look like some kinda sweet burst, but it's straight up amber on a plain maple top. May drop in some good caps here soon
Members Elias Graves
Dude, that's like the hottest LP I've seen in a while. Why you been showing off all your teles when you had this around? :poke: I loves me some plain top and that one is a beauty. MORE PICS! EG

Members Buttcrust
^^I think thats the nicest top on a LP I've seen in all the years I've been oogling guitars here on HCEG^, Not overwhelming flame (which I also like very much). It just... perfect.

Members atrox
That's pretty standard on many guitars
Members Skyforger
I feel like I should link this just because it's been so helpful for me when wiring weird and wonderful Strats and copies. http://www.axesrus.com/axecart.htm At the top of that page, there's a hyperlink to a .pdf download entitled Wiring Diagrams, which is a 22 page wiring guide. I use it constantly. And hey, that there is definitely one of the nicer Les Pauls I've ever seen! I don't think I've ever come across a bare grain finish on a LP before, which is made even sadder considering that bare grain is probably my favourite finish! Members ten56gibby
Thanks for the link, Skyforger. That's gonna be quite handy. And thanks for the compliment on my LP That's pretty standard on many guitars Yeah. Finding out this is "modern wiring" it hit me that this is likely the most common HH with individual v/t setup. Still a wiring n00b here.
