Members SPONGEBOB
Mine... 2001 SG Standard.. Cherry in beautiful condition, and its a good one.. Light weight and it sounds a LOT like the two originals I had, one from 66 and a 65.. Its one of the better recent SG's I have played or heard in all honesty.. Most are not this good. His... an original 1965 Melody Maker D... Cherry, 2 pickup, vibrato.. clean and original with some checking.. Do you guys do this deal?... I am real close to pulling the trigger.. Resale would seem to favor the MM, but nothing is an easy sell these days, even clean vintage, unless you want to give it away.... Had the SG for sale for $750, and no serious bites, until this swap offer... What do you think??/ bob
Members D Carroll
I'd do it. older mm are cool. Tons of good SG's to be had at a good price.
Members Deadbeat Son
If the MM has the mojo and vibe of your SG I would.

Members Bbreaker
No. IMO, those MM's were crap. I sold off both of my cherry SG Standards to pay bills. I was able to save for something I really liked. Once things got cleared up, I was able to buy a used Trussart Steelphonic.
Members skipstar59
I'd do it in a heartbeat. The value is only going to go up ,and it's got the vintage mojo going on.
Members jimash
I would keep the SG.
Members SPONGEBOB
If that MM is clean , its a somewht tougher find than a late model SG no? Really easy to find a good deal on an SG Standard these days. Not so much on any clean vintage stuff, even lower end such as Melody Makers... Thats my take anyway... bob
