Members Henry Path
Wearing a wedding ring has never impeded my guitar-playing capabilities. Rather, it's my complete lack of talent and chops regarding the instrument.
Members GCDEF
So, I just got married, and I've noticed that I either have to get used to playing with my wedding band on, or I have to switch it to my right hand (or just take it off) while playing. But I've seen tons of pros play with their wedding rings on; for example, I'm pretty sure Petrucci shreds just fine with his on. Anyway, how long did it take you to get used to playing with a ring on your fretting hand? I don't even notice I'm wearing it. Doesn't affect playing at all. Members knotty
The ring is the least of your problems.

Members Alan Roberts
It's never really bothered me or effected my playing, but I can hear it hitting the the side of the neck when I play acoustic sometimes. It doesn't appear to have done any damage, though.
Members stormin1155
My wedding band is quite substantial, and it has never bothered me or come in contact with the neck. Compared to all of the other adjustments you'll make to married life, this one will be quite minor. Trust me.
Members A Happy Crowd
I could've started this same thread last year. The first few times I tried to play after I got married, my ring finger just felt so heavy. But like everyone else said, you get used to it quickly. I still catch myself playing around with the ring all the time, but at least when I play guitar, it's no longer a bother.

Members mockchoi
Hate playing with my wedding ring on. Luckily I have an understanding wife.

Off topic, kinda,I quit wearing pinky rings because they would create a "chirp" when hitting the strings.
Moderators Ratae Corieltauvorum Posted July 13, 2012 Moderators Share Posted July 13, 2012 Congrats, and yeah, you get used to the ring with a little time. My only complaint is that the damn thing gets heavier the closer I get to Mordor. Pffffffffffffft:lol:

Members skibob
I have a wide ring that I wear for dress up occasions and for work and everything else I have a plain narrow comfort band. When I play with the wide one I can hear it clicking against the neck and it feels weird and heavy. With the comfort band I don't even notice it. Members Special J
I never got used to mine. Just not a ring wearer.
Members docjeffrey
I take my ring off, not because it messes with my playing, but I like it when girls think I'm available. They throw their panties up on stage. I also get some mens stuff, but that's for another thread.
