Frets99
Hello. My name is Inigo Montoya. You killed my father. Prepare to die!
Members bluesnapper
I can't stretch at all... When I'm playing Tush I ask the bassist to cover the notes and play a different riff over the top. Sounds ok. My little finger is really short... I can just about play that riff in A (2 frets higher) but not comfortably - it starts getting bearable in B and higher. When I'm playing lead I pretty much stick to one finger per fret and move my whole hand around from position to position rather than stretch. I get into a muddle when I'm playing high up the board and can't fit all my fingers in....
Members chiro972
I hate all of you people. It is so frustrating being a blues fan but having stupid short fingers. Even a 4 fret stretch at first position is near impossible with my short fingers. Add to that a thumb that was broken in college and can do little more than mute the low E string but can't fret over the top and I don't know why I bother, but I keep on trying. Members 1001gear
The critical stretch is the two inside fingers. Try 2 frets between those and then hammer and pull trills. That's in the cripple zone for me. Can't do those fluid scalic runs if that ain't working.
