just had a massive gas fart for a voodoo series I think they were late 1990's.

could anyone comment on the v's, or explorers. experiances and pics please.

I really like the skull thing in red too.

I never have played one but I think they are cool looking in their own crazy way.

They do spec' out a little dif' than the "standard" models.

Spec's :

Swamp ash body

Mahog neck

Ebony fretboard

Not sure about the pickups.

my friend has a voodoo sg. i have not played it plugged in, but strumming acoustically it sounded very nice. it was also very light weight. i think the voodoo series is actually pretty cool looking.

Ash def' rings out nice when strummed unplugged. I like the look to. They would make a pretty fun stage guitar.

Explorer is mine, SG was my friends.

We both hated the stock pickups in them, those Gibson ceramics do not mix well with the swamp ash body and ebony board.

Nice:thu:

So that's what they came stock with then the "hot" ceramics. Ya, They have those in the reg' model Explorers. They are cool but in the long run I also switched them out of my 06-76RI. I went for some lower output, alnico5 DiMarzio's which work well for my R&R style. Good stuff:thu:

the explorer headstock looks so nice. that banana/hockey stick look.

the gas is a safe one I see one a year around my hometown, and I hate ebay

Cool. Ya, sometimes just talking shop about the gear you are gassing badly for helps alleviate the situation a bit.:) Ya, buying guitars on E-bay is not a thrill for me either. I liek to try befor I buy.
