Members marauder6666
Explorer is mine, SG was my friends. We both hated the stock pickups in them, those Gibson ceramics do not mix well with the swamp ash body and ebony board.

Ya, They have those in the reg' model Explorers. They are cool but in the long run I also switched them out of my 06-76RI. I went for some lower output, alnico5 DiMarzio's which work well for my R&R style. Good stuff:thu:
Members marauder6666
The ceramics in voodoos are the same as a regular Explorer or LP Classic but dont have adjustable screw poles, just two rows of slugs.

Ya, sometimes just talking shop about the gear you are gassing badly for helps alleviate the situation a bit. Ya, buying guitars on E-bay is not a thrill for me either. I liek to try befor I buy. Members Wyatt
It should be noted that, while all the publicity shots of the Voodoo LP, Explorer and SG show white/mother of pearl logos...the actual guitars all had red logos like the V. Members bsman
I'm not at all a Gibson guy, but for some reason those (esp. the Explorer) and the Gothic series really interested me at the time. I guess perhaps because they somehow seem less 'Gibson-y'...
