The Seymour Duncan JB Humbucker and the Fender Atomic Humbucker have the same specs:

- 16.4k DC resistance

- Alnico 5 magnets

Anyone experienced or owned one or both of them? What is the difference between them? Which do you prefer?

Thanks

I have an Atomic in the bridge position of my Fender Showmaster.  I like it... very strong output.  I used to have two Showmasters... the other one had SD pickups, but I don't remember which models.  Anyway, I liked this one better than that one, so sold it.

the JB has a nice full and meaty sound
. The Duncan Distortion has an edgier sound by way of comparison (better for metal). The JB is good for all around rocky stuff.

Nope, that's not true at all, subjectivity aside.
