Members Cross Eyed Mary
I've got two pints of Stone. 1) Stone Ruination IPA 2)Arrogant Bastard Ale {censored}ing hoppiest {censored} i've ever tasted. Oh dear god, it's hard when you start with the Stone sober. This says it all: Having said that, it's damn good, strong, been too long since i've had one. Members aenemated
the funniest thing about stone is their anti-marketing marketing. i know what all the marketing people are thinking right now too, "oh, you know what bill's doing, he's going for that anti-marketing dollar. that's a good market, he's very smart." Members Cross Eyed Mary
Yeah, it's a bit jive, but they definitely are a small operation.
Members aenemated
their beer is decent. but i drink entirely too much of it to pay what they want for it.
Members Cross Eyed Mary
It always hurts even worse than the hangover when they ring you up. I paid $9 for two pints.
Members aenemated
i'll stick with my fizzy yellow beer that's for pussies that i can get a case of for 20 bucks. if i want to drink something for taste, i'll drink a bordeaux cab. if i just wanna get drunk, i'll get cheap beer. it IS a good beer, though. but beer is a means to an end for me. Members bengerm77
I know of a better beer. Two words: Russian Imperial Stout. And if you like that, there's also Old Rasputin Stout, which is remarkably similar and 9% alcohol. That's 100% straight knock-you-on-your-ass beer. Members Cross Eyed Mary
ive never heard of stone do they carry it in Texas ? Not sure, look for the devil character next time you're browsing. The ABA is easier than the Ruination IPA, i checked my teeth for leaves the first time i had that stuff. Members Targ
well, ok The British solders while in India missed their beloved bitter. So, since hops is also a preservative, they just "hopped up" the bitters so that it wouldn't spoil on the way to India. The soldiers there developed a taste for it and had to have it when they got back. That is why a IPA is actualy higher hopped than a traditional "bitter"
Members cearleywine
Yes, I read a brief history on a bottle years back. Great discovery, I crave those fresh hops.
Members manoeuver
to balance the increased hops they also increased the malt used in brewing. that's why IPAs usually sport a fuller body and higher ABV.
