These are the only pictures I was provided and i've never seen one like this before so since i'm no expert i figured some of you learned folks could chime in and give me your opinions. I have the opportunity to purchase this drum and i'd like to make sure i'm not buying something thats not worth my hard earned money. anyway, here is the snare: just in case the pics don't show up, here is the link to the pics http://yfrog.com/h8vgahrj what do you all think? I know that in addition to the nickel over brass shells there were the occasional aluminum shell drums too - which wouldn't be worth as much. I doubt this is one. It's looking like nickel (not chrome) over brass. Not sure what an 8 lug model would be called or how much it would be worth. But be aware, it's hard to get heads to fit, and hard to tune these. I know that was the case on the 60's version of that drum (which was a wood shell - but there have been a few Pioneer wood shell snares from this earlier era too).
