Members JMR
Don't have deep bass drums? I can't seem to find anything less than 18" deep.

Members nklarow
Not to hijack a thread, but what's with this trend with kick drums? It's called "{censored}" where I'm from. Not that an 18"+ deep drum is a bad thing, but really... I just wish a majority of the people they were marketing these drums to would realize that's it's mostly just a fashion statement. Some 17 year old metal-head who's been playing for two months "My bass drum is a canon!11!!!!! You can only get the canon sound if you get a four foot deep kick drum!!!!! lolzzzz!!!111!!!!" ^ which is, obviously, bull{censored}.
Members JMR
I hate hate hate them. I've learned how to play on a 22X14, and anything deeper than 16" feels completely wrong. And sound ewwwww.

And sound ewwwww. My Gennie Kick is a 22"x18"; Saturn's are 24"x20". It's in the tuning. I do wish that the Saturns were 18" or 16" deep for more "punch", but again, The tunings the key. I'd say it's just personal preference once again. Doesn't Ludwig make a 22"x 14"? Maybe it's a 16". Nate's right it is a trend right now though.
