Members RobertHouse
Help! I'm having trouble recording with Ableton Live 8. All I want is to sing into my new mic and record into the Ableton Live 8 software but I get no sound in the recording track from my mic. I also hear nothing from Live 8 through my monitor speaker or headphones (not any of the sounds that come with it). I can hear my singing in the mic (Rode NT1A) through the monitor and headphones but no singing gets to the Live 8. Ahhh! There is also the Scarlett MixControl DAW that collects the sound from the Focusrite Scarlett 8i6 box. Maybe I don't have the 2 'pointing' at each other correctly. Anyone familiar with this kind of set up? It seems to be able to make all kinds of music but I just want to start with recording using my new mic. Moderators davie Posted August 19, 2011 Moderators Share Posted August 19, 2011 Did you check to make sure that you selected the appropriate channel as your input source? (eg. left/right channel)
Members ido1957
Find the Ableton Forum and ask there....they should be able to walk you through the set up
Members RobertHouse
Yup, got the phantom turned on. Going to Guitar city to talk to the guy who sold all these parts to us. He said we could ask about the software if we had problems. Wish me luck.

Members grace_slick
You know what's lame? I have Ableton (though it's version 7), and I can't even help you cause I don't know enough about how to use it myself! FAIL!!!!
Members RobertHouse
OMG I feel stupid. It was that I didn't set up Windows to use the interface as the default audio in and out. Now I finally get to try out the new mic. Yeah.
