Members DukeOfBoom
Well here's a rough demo on an original. Yes, it's pitchy, there's too much 'verb, and the voice is lost in the mix. But it's rock n roll, baby. Deal with it. http://picosong.com/erA

Though the instruments are mixed too loud compared to your vocals. Good job though!

I like the writing and the music is very very good. You been doing this for a while....

Members rockinrobby
Sorry, I couldn't resist. You need to fix this and post the final version. I'd like to here the produced version. You need to squeeze it a bit too. When it gets loud it feels a bit abrupt from the previous part of the song.
Members grace_slick
Have I heard this before? I don't recall actually ever hearing anything you've done, but this sounds familiar so I may have heard it. I like this song a lot...the voice IS lost and too reverb-y but you can fix that, as you know. I really like the chord progression...it's creepy and dark. Your voice is very rock...very cool. I like it.
Members DukeOfBoom
it's a simple i IV i V7 in the verse and the i bV in the chorus.
Members grace_slick
How many songs ya done? Are you like me and have done several songs but none are really ready yet? You should come into the songwriting section, man! You'd get excellent feedback (hopefully) about your songs as opposed to just the voice.
Members DukeOfBoom
When it gets loud it feels a bit abrupt from the previous part of the song. This is because the inner drum sequencing guru hasn't yet been awaken inside of me. A drum roll would fix the transition, undoubtedly.
Members grace_slick
How the hell to do a drum roll when you use your PC keyboard for drum sounds!? lol

Members staticsound
About time you posted something :poke: Not bad man, a lot of verb and a little pitchy, but other than that, pretty good!
Members YeahDoIt
I like this. I remember hearing this song about two months ago. Readers might remember, it was the song with a creepy edge to it but some of us liked that creepy quality. You improved it, I like this version a lot, Duke. I think this is a good original song for a live rock show. I hear slight pitch problems - I do not find them objectionable - and getting the pitch 100 % good is tough for me. I think the reverb is OK for his type song and presentation. Duke, as an experiment you might bass boost It's not a rough demo anymore. I think it's pretty good. Members MikeyParent
I like it... music is good. I am not a big fan of the vocals but it suits the music. I think the verb is OK personally - I think it works in this style of music... it's very Goth, very "Bauhaus"

Members rockinrobby
i use Addictive Drums into sonar. then i mess with the step sequencer. Yeah once you really start working with midi, it's pretty easy to do pretty much "anything" it's just a qstn of how much time do you want to put in to it, and how much do you want to spend on the samples, programs, plugs, and tools... I love midi cause I'm like a freaking pit on a project. I've worked for weeks on a drum track. But I've never used, and won't use loops. Some folks do, and that's fine, but for me, "I play" the drums. In that I program and edit each note. As opposed to using loops. Again, nothing wrong with loops at all, some people use them and get GREAT results, and they're faster (much) and easier, and so therefore arguably better? It's just personal choice.
