Members 311IncubusCKY
Craigslist score of the week: I'm back in the Ric Club. I found a beat up 1976 4001 Rickenbacker and for the price, I had to pick it up. Most of the wear seems like "playing" wear but there is some bangs and such. The stripping is white tape that i have yet to peel off. I hope it does not leave goo or residue. If there is, what would you all suggest to take it off and not hurt the finish? I know bass' do not exist without pictures, so here they are....

That was when I saw the wear on the back. I offered 500 and she took it. She also had a Korg Poly-800 that she gave me for free, so when I sell that on eBay, I supose it will lower the price I paid for the ric.... They don't command very big prices. The Ric however is awesome.
Members 311IncubusCKY
If I can get 100-200 for it, which i see them go for on eBay, Im all over it. That would bring the price of the Ric down to 300. Now, to take off the tape and clean her up.

Members BigPigPeaches
Ronsonol lighter fluid is safe to use for most finishes when removing sticky residue. Very effective, too, much more so than Goo Gone. And no, I'm not joking.

Members bassplayer2001
Try some Goo Gone, but in a small area in case it dosen't work. i have used it on painted finishes and had no problem, and that was on fiberglass. Just a thought Good Luck
