I've been trying to get into non-mainstream rap/hip hop, but have run into the same problem that I ran into with rock music, I just don't know where to look. Depends what you want to hear.I'd recommend checking out Lyrics Born. Find a track called I Changed My Mind. A good into. He's on the same label as Blackalicious (another great rap group). For some more off mainstream stuff I could give you a bunch, but curious as to what type of stuff you'd be into hearing. Members cheeky_m0nkeys
Some mainstream rap is good, but dont let it form the basis of your opinion on the genre. That's like assuming all rock sounds like Nickelback. *cringe*
