I've bought quite a lot of new music thanks to this forum, so I thought a thread about our music purchases could be kewl. In the last 2 days, I've ordered:

The Brand New Heavies - self-titled

Queens of the Stone Age - "Lullabies to Paralyze"

Peter Gabriel - "Us"

Groove Collective - "Declassified"

Gotta love Half.com.

Not bad at all, really. I've yet to make it through one of their concerts all the way, but the songs on the album are good, better than I expected.

You guys should check out Kick the Cat; UM's drummer's side project.

Last trip to the used record store:

YES - Yessongs. My previous CD copy had suffered an untimely demise and it was necessary to replace it. :thu:

Mahavishnu Orchestra - Birds of Fire. Had it on vinyl back in the '80s and had forgotten how great this album is. This one gets :thu: :thu: , if for nothing else because maybe somebody will give it a shot based on this. :)

Jenny Lewis with the Watson Twins - Rabbit Fur Coat

Fantastic, mystical, dark indie/folk/country stuff. And a cover of Handle With Care by the Wilburys. What more can you ask for?

Laura Cantrell - Humming By The Flowered Vine

A bit twee and old school countryesque in places, but the more subtle tracks are great.

and just ordered...

Sia - Colour the Small One

A friend sent me four tracks from this, and I ordered it immediately. Living proof that illegal sharing of music results in legal purchases! She is the singer on the last Zero 7 album, this is a solo album from 2004. Dark, keyboard-driven, confessional songwriting and fragile vocal performances. Loving what I've heard, can't wait for the rest of it.

Michael Morris - King County Hotel and Casino

Nick Africano - Broken

Over/Under - Line Out

All local, just got them this past weekend. Michael Morris is amazing for those of you who enjoy alt.country/folk. I think he only has one song up on his myspace, and even this CD is just a single, but I am anxiously awaiting his full length. The other two I didn't really buy, Nick just gave them to me (he is the singer/guitarist of Over/Under and the other is his solo EP).
