Members tinhwp
dbx 266xl - finally got set up halfway decent, after 5 nearly 6 months!?
Members MrJoshua
I'm a big fan of the FMR RNC. I keep one in the effects loop of my GBE600 head and it does just what I want it to - keeps the peaks down if I get over-agressive without coloring my sound. Members BlackBelt
An Ashly SC-50 rack mount comp. I've tried the pedals, and they sucked. I tried less expensive compressors, and you could hear them working. With the Ashly, you don't hear it, you just get the benefit. And THAT, my friend, is why you pay the extra money!!! Moderators Kindness Posted May 28, 2007 Moderators Share Posted May 28, 2007 My left and right hands. I'm not a big fan of compressors on bass for live tone (I leave that to FOH, if at all), but I've used several dbx units and the FMR RNC when home recording - I wouldn't hesitate to use them live if I wanted compression. The nicer units I've used at studios are probably not what you are looking for.
Members Mytola
That thing has the worst compressor I've ever heard on it...

I replaced my Ashly rack compressor with my analog.man stomp box. Used Ashly gear is dirt cheap... my CompROSSor (also used) cost 5 times more than the Ashly
