Members acombmusicman
OK folks. I would like your help in identifying the bass guitar shown in the pictures below. It is Japanese, has a 30" scale telecaster style headstock and body shape, a Burns style two piece three ply scratchplate, one volume, one tone control. It is fitted with flat wound strings (probably original), and apart from a touch of dust crackle in the volume pot, works perfectly. I think it is about 30 years old. There are no markings or serial numbers, other than a "Made In Japan" label.

Members acombmusicman
Thanks for the name suggestions guys, I am sure the owner will give it a name, probably "Billy Bass" or something. Any other suggestions other than a Fernandez. I have never seen anything like this. It looks factory made rather than a DIY kit, the finish is too good. Members SB900LE
I looked around the web a bit yesterday when I first saw the post . . . nothing definitive but I think it's a late 60's - early 70's Kay bass; maybe an Electra. Kay models had the zero fret. Also some of theirs had a thumbrest like that; And also pot knobs that resemble those. But again, nothing definitive. Have you taken it apart and examined the neck heel or cavity for clues?
