Members Pickdust
Seal's version of "Fly Like An Eagle" has more groove than the original. No offense intended toward you but .........Anyone's version of Fly Like an Eagle would have more grove than the original ......I mean ...............it is URRrrrrrrrrgggggg...Steve Miller.......involuntary cringing and slight retching........ Is my bias showing? PD
Members chunky-b
What about comedic covers... Anyone ever heard of Dread Zeppelin?http://www.dreadzeppelin.com/ A LZ cover band with a Reggae twist and an Elvis impersonator as the lead singer? How twisted can that get? Members der oxenrig
Summertime Blues - The Who Shakin' All Over - The Who Young Man Blues - The Who (Aww screw it, every song The Who covered, they nailed it!) Jethro Tull - Bouree Cream - Crossroads Page fair enough sloppy live, but not on studio work. Also you need to remember the production of those records is all by him and it's awesome. Bonham pretty much originated 'rock' drumming, most players of his era came from a jazz background. JPJ does indeed rock, and yeah Percy is Percy... Sorry, Moon originated rock drumming. Members georgestrings
Several People will say "All Along the Watchtower" by HendrixIT escapes me, but there is a song, I believe, by the Eagles, that most people don't realize is a cover. It was originally by Fleetwood Mac.The song escapes me now, though........ On a related note - "The Green Manolishi" by Judas Priest, originally by Fleetwood Mac... Although I LOVE Sabbath, anything off the Nativity in Black disc rocks, IMO... - georgestrings

Members Funkee1
You're not talking about "Oh Well" are you?? The Rockets did a great remake of it. Fleetwood Mac did the original back in '68 (pre-Stevie & Buckingham).Mr. Matt Actually, no. I was thinking of "Black Magic Woman", and it wasn't the Eagles, it was Santana! Boy did I ever screw that one up!!!!!! How I remembered was right after I posted this, I went to the store, and the original, by FM came on! Members vanlatte
Alien Ant Farm's version of "Smooth Criminal"The original is boring and flat by comparison. AAF is a great band, what ever happend to them?!?My vote for this topic goes to the Van Halen version of "Dancin' in the Streets". Out of the 10,396 versions of that over done song, theirs is the only one I like.

Surprisingly they got a lot of fallout from that. Were known as that "Michael Jackson band". I have their second album and it's great, just like their first. "Movies" is also a killer song with great bass licks. Tye can really throw down, even if he's playing that fugly Fender thing nowadays!
