How High is Your Bass?

I nearly always play with my bass touching the floor.

Occasionally I will lift it up, but I mostly find playing most comfortable with the bass actually touching the floor.

You must really be a goat.

 

... that whole Flea ... low-slung bass ... ball-protection. I figured that if a goat were to play bass, yes, the bass would have to be touching the floor. :idea:

So, I finally got a nice wide strap for my bass. I noticed I like it low now, like between 3 ~ 4. My right arm feels much more comfortable, 'cause they're not bent as you would be if you were to have it up higher. I'll have to experiment.

Did you find a nice one that didn't cost more than your bass? ;)

For this bass anyways, notice how far to the right i wear this one.

In any case, i like mine high, not Dickens high though; at my age (or any age for that matter) ya gots to protect them wrists. The reason for me having it so far to the right is even playing the C on the 5th string i have ZERO wrist strain.
