Members Uncle Buck
Keeping on the cheap in mind, which one of these would you buy? Crate BT100 Bass Combohttp://www.samedaymusic.com/product--CRABT100 Or Behringer BX1800 Ultrabass Bass Combohttp://www.samedaymusic.com/product--BEHBX1800 Even though the Behringer is cheaper and says it has more wattage I'm leaning towards the Crate. The intended usage is mainly practice and small bar gigs. Both have XLR line out so either could be jacked into a PA.
CMS Author Craig Vecchione Posted August 26, 2007 CMS Author Share Posted August 26, 2007 When the choice is the Crate or the Behringer, choose the Peavey.
Members Funkee1
The Crate. Although I'd be happy to show you several other alternatives.
Members twostone
I would pass on the Behringer because of durability IMO Crate makes some decent quality gear may not be the ultimate pros choice for a combo amp but in the long haul I betcha the Crate can handle bumpy rides to your gigs or practice place way better then the Behringer. Personally I would save up more for a Ampeg hard to beat their reputation and their sound is amazing.

Members garytees
Crate, if you don't mind the weight (69 lbs). I had the opportunity to hear another bass player use one at a gig and it's plenty powerful.
Members HumptyThumpty
Well I was going to suggest the Peavey Max 115 because I really like my Peavey Max 112, the a con on the Peavey's is no DI.
Members bassred
+1 for Peavey.. in the case of the 'no DI', get a Rolls Matchox for $30.... I've had mine for years and they are still great. I use my Peavey basic 12 at church, nd I've gt the pre AND post gains at '3'. It's a monitor for me, but it fills the stage at that level.... and it sounds great!
