I don't know if any one else has found this, but as a bass player it is almost an arrestable offence if you say, don't appreciate Jaco Pastorius. In the sax world if you appreciate Kenny G you are frowned upon, whilst no doubt he's put out countless corny renditions of love songs and a lot of other tosh the fact remains he is an awesome player. Check this video out of him playing with Sade, the rhythm section is so tight!! must be awesome to play with

I can see why no one likes him, a Blonde "Jew Fro" that was too long to boot, plays that damn horn from the side of his mouth...and of course this...

His critics who like to say he's a big gimmick must have loved what he did on December 1, 1997, when he set a world record by holding an F flat note on his soprano for more than 45 minutes.

Which has since been broken, but before that i'll bet some people were pissed over it.

That thing about the record note is to me like being a great harmonica player. I mean, it's great that you are and congratulations - but why would you *want* to?
