Members seraphim7s
On my '85 Jazz (see sig) the hardware is kinda manky - especially the tuners. What would I use to clean her up? It must be something kind - don't wanna mar the finish of the wood. Actually - would it be best to REMOVE the hardware and clean it like that? Members PaulyWally
Actually - would it be best to REMOVE the hardware and clean it like that? I would. Polishing metal can get really messy. I could also suggest something... but I'm at work and I forgot the name of the product. Sorry.
Members misterhinkydink
Very fine steel wool but remove the HW first as the the broken fibers will collect on the pickup poles if your don't.

Members bassman1956
Steel wool is a terrible idea. Simichrome scratches, very noticable on some stuff, because you go from a mirror finish to a satin finish, still bright chrome though. Brasso's just as bad, as are most chrome cleaners. If I'm not mistaken, this includes Mother's, but to a lesser extent. Nevr-Dull does not scratch, but requires a lot more elbow grease, and possibly a few more beat up finger tips. If you can't find it, try an Ace Hardware if you got them. All will work. I prefer Nevr-Dull to anything that may show the brush marks from other polishes.
