Members 2tall
Got the new picjguard on today. So its ready to show. I bought from musicgoround.com in Davenport Iowa...thanks Johnny! It got my attention because it has a P bass neck. It's all mexican. Upgrades include: Badass II bridge EMG active 18v pickups Replacement knobs and pots and I did the pickguard today. I will probably install some new hipshot tuners in a week or so. She plays and sounds excellent! I almost tried to build a bass just like it, but found this one instead, and whoever built it did a really good job. Ive tried to find a jazz with a wide neck for more than 2 years, bought and sold jazz basses, including a Geddy bass, and could not stand the little thin ass necks they all had. This neck is not as fat as my 62 P neck on my green custom P, but it is so much better. Members FloydianAnimal
I like it! I have EMG's (9V only tho) in my Jazz and really need to put a battery box in it like that one, the controls cavity is really cramped...
Members 82Daion
Black is the only color that should be torted. Nice bass-I'm with you on the P-neck.

Natural + tort = SCHWING! +1 on the P neck on a J. My Lakland Joe Osborn was ordered that way.

The hole is for the cover or "ashtray" I think.
Members Super Bass
Fixed. You want I should give proof without a maple board? Here's a link, just so I don't spoil 2Tall's thread. Picture

Picture White and tortoise looks great with rosewood. But it looks even better with maple. Picture
Members james on bass
Very nice! Must be an Allparts pick guard? They have that hole in the middle of the guard for some reason.

No the hole is to hold down the guard from warping up, you really should put a screw in it if you're keeping it.Ashtray holes would be located right above and below the neck pup.
