Members mcpepe
I am looking for a little amp for bass recording at my home studio. It would be nice if I can use it for guitar too.The main use will be bass (not guitar), but if I can use it with guitar (with pedals or modellers if needed) with a decent tone it would be fantastic. I think guitar amps are not a good choice to play bass (they have no bass freqs), but perhaps the other way maybe. It will be used only for recording, not live, and not at the same time. Thanks for the help.

Members Bernie P.
I think one of SWR's acoustic amps or the Baby Blue II would do the trick.Provided you're not talking about hyper hysterical git wailin.

The Baby blue is one of the best amps ever made IMO , I think a few Jazz cats used it with a Jazz box but my first guess is it would be too clean for the geetar it maybe better to get a Champ or something like an old KAY for the geetar and crank that beatch , My 50's Kay I scored on the 'bay for 60 bucks and sounds amazing , but not for bass
CMS Author Craig Vecchione Posted June 19, 2008 CMS Author Share Posted June 19, 2008 Running bass into guitar *speakers* will generally wind up shredding them at some point. The amp will work fine for either. So find a decent small bass amp and use modelers to get better guitar tone...bass amps are more flat in their response than guitar amps. Members i_wanna_les_paul
Ampeg BA112. +1 Get a stompbox and wail. As long as you're just wanting a bass amp to practice with, it's a nice little amp.

Members Bernie P.
I have played a couple acoustic gits through my BA-115 and they sounded great.Probably not as good as through one of the SWR's but lots less green.
