Members flip333
Can you upgrade an American Jazz bass with Carvin PU's? ...just asking... http://cgi.ebay.com/95-USA-Fender-American-Standard-Jazz-Bass
Members bluedogaudio
I think that would be a downgrade.

Members Super Bass
I think that would be a downgrade. But if it went for low enough you could get it and swap the pickups with something better.
Members GRANKOR
that's not an american standard either, they never had 1 piece pickguard/control plates
Members fretless
wouldn't be my first choice , I have them in my Carvin , they're ok but that bass should have some kick ass Fender or boutique upgrades and that will add a couple hundred to the price . Members gspointer
Curious about the skunk stripe and the lack of a string through body in a american standard also.
Members Navybass65
The pickup in the bridge position of a Jazz bass is longer than the neck pickup. Carvin J-bass pickups are the same size, so a carvin pickup will fit in one position but not the other one.
Members flip333
If someone wasn't paying attention, they would not get a good deal with this. It seems used American Fender Jazz Basses go for around $800. That is with real American jazz pickups. I have seen a few "American" Jazz Basses on ebay without the string through bridge. Is there such a thing? I have not got to compare an american jazz bass with any other. All I know is that I really like the American Fender Jazz Bass tone and I want one with genuine pickups in it. Members vinxbass
I have a 2007 Carvin LB75AP Anniversary with a H50S stacked humbucker J pup. I also own a 2008 MIA Fender Jazz V and there's no way I'd ever swap out the Fender pups for Carvin's, the Carvin's do not hold up well against the Fender pups. The Carvin's are weak compared to the Fenders.
