Members mlwarriner
a nearly-new ray35 for my G-V. one of the very very few basses that i have any regrets over getting rid of is my stingray 5 a long time ago. everything i read says the SBMM basses are less than a gnat's ass from the real thing. deal or no deal? Members mlwarriner
What's a G-V?Peavey G bass 5? yup. essentially a US cirrus with a modulus neck. street value between 400 and 500, maybe close to 6. only in the right market though... Members anothertxn
everything i read says the SBMM basses are less than a gnat's ass from the real thing.deal or no deal? I wouldn't do it, personally, because I was definitely UNIMPRESSED with the SBMM bass I picked up. I found it to have a drastically different feel than the typical MM...much like one of the less well made Squires. However, I might be the only one that feels this way, so don't take my word on it. Members perrydabassman
I played the four string version. Granted it only had one pup, but it had some serious tonz. Loved the way it played. To say I was impressed would be an understatement. I can only imagine what the fiver tastes like. I say keep it.

Members mlwarriner
I thought Matt did too, but I guess I shouldn't be surprised he's considering unloading it. i'm keeping it, for now. until the right offer happens. which won't, becuase "the right offer" means someone offering me a bass worth close to a grand in a heads up trade for my bass with a street value (on a damned good day) of about $600. :D
