Each one of the locks is like a capo for the string.

 

the first one by the nut is E...like normal. each additional lock lowers the open string by 1 half step. the open-unlocked string is a low C.

 

 

and yes i had a local luthier do it. he did an outstanding job and was way cheaper than anywhere else in the country (that i looked at)

+1, yet I still want one.

 

Kind of like when I was 9 or 10-years old. I knew I wanted a necked woman. I did not know what I was going to do with her once I got her, but I knew for sure I wanted on.:facepalm:

Looks like fingering an Eb or D might be tricky. How do you do that, like reverse thumb position for -1/2, and -1?

 

 

That's what I was thinking...

 

So you have.. C (big gap) E F F# etc...

 

or can you actually fret on that ext.?
