Members jamieb
Just read an unconfirmed report that Bob Babbitt has passed. I'm sure many of you know of Mr. Babbitt as the man who had the unenviable task of replacing the legendary James Jamerson at Motown. Watch Standing In The Shadows Of Motown for more on the legend who had to follow a LEGEND. RIP, Mr. Babbitt jamieb+++++

Members Thy God
I wasn't doubting it, mostly wanting to know why due to my lack of familiarity with the name.
Members jamieb
Here's a link to Mr. Babbitt playing along to his base line for Stevie Wonder's , evidently with a student. I think he played on Stevie's "Sir Duke", too... There is a scene in "SitSoM" where two guys were talking about the solo Mr. Babbitt did in Dennis Coffey's "Scorpio"... jamieb+++++
Members modulusman
I attended a clinic that he gave about 5 years ago. He was nice and had alot of funny stories to tell.
Members Alan Roberts
It's been a bad day for the music world with both Babbitt and Lord passing. I saw him on a tour the Funk Brothers did a few years ago with Joan Osborne. That band was unbelievably tight!
